So we actually remembered to take Ky to his doctor appointment today! (we forgot about the one last month and had to reschedule). He is weighing 18 lbs 13 oz, Paxton weighed that at 4 months old!!! At 6 months Pax weighed 20 lbs, they are so different! Ky was good although he did not enjoy his 3 shots. Paxton watched him get the shots and was so sweet with him, he is such a great big brother.
Frank went right to work and will be gone most of the night too with the final Christmas party being tonight (teen club). He is also going to work some in the morning to get caught up, then we will take the afternoon and evening off. I thought I was going to have to write some sad news today but then Frank called me a little while to inform me that our thoughts were wrong. The man, "J" that Frank has been spending a lot of time with, was recently kicked out of the rehab, Last Stop, that he was at. He was accused of using again and Frank never heard from him when this happened. Pastor Joe spotted J around the neighborhood and thought he saw him with his old buddy he used to hang out with at the drug house (by the church) but thank God he wasn't. Frank got a call from another friend today who said J was back at Last Stop for a meeting and Frank immediately went over to see him. He is NOT using again, praise the Lord!!! There was a misunderstanding and he got mad because he was accused so he stayed away for awhile. Frank didn't share many details but the details don't even matter. I am just overjoyed that he is still on the road to recovery.
Sadly, another man, also J, is not doing as well. I wrote awhile ago about a little boy's father that is consistently doing things to destroy their family. Since I last wrote, he left rehab, came home clean, used drugs again, quit again and now is back out of the house using again. The ups and downs that this family goes through because of J are unbelievable. Frank has gotten involved more and last night the boy came to our door to get him when J returned home high and causing problems. Frank went over and calmed things down and is praying J will get in touch with him. It is so sad to watch, but I am excited that God is using Frank in this way. It also makes me so thankful that Frank did recover. It is such a blessing to watch Frank be used in this way and to see his passion for this ministry he is stepping in to.
