an all nighter...

I knew I would be staying up LATE last night, I just had no idea where I would be! I thought it would be at the Hope House with the God's Girls...it ended up being in the Emergency Room. My poor husband called me at 10:30pm and when I heard my cell phone I knew immediately something must be wrong, him knowing where I was and not to call me. I went home immediately to find him in agonizing pain with a kidney stone. If you have never had a kidney stone (I have and this isn't Frank's 1st), let me just tell you it hurts worse than having kids, it is the worst pain I have ever felt in my life. I called the dr. for him and they directed us to go straight to the ER. Jonerik drove us, Frankie stayed home with the boys as they slept and Trish carried on with God's Girls, which still had hours of teaching left to go at that point. We went to U Penn, instead of Northeastern,(which is right by our house), in an attempt to get better medical care. Being in a big city ER on a Friday night, I don't think it matters which hospital you choose, I think they would all be crazy, and it WAS! Although, our desire was met, he had the best doctors and nurses, once we made it back. He immediately was hooked up to an IV, after severely vomiting for awhile, he got WAY worse after we arrived. They gave him pain meds and nausea meds, as well as tons of fluids to move it along. He had a CAT scan to see how many, size, etc. The pain subsided within about 30 minutes of being in there and he was comfortable, in pain but comfortable. Then it was just waiting. He was finally discharged around 5:15am, and we headed home, JE picking us back up. He, in fact, has several stones, in both sides (he thought it was just the left), and hopefully they will pass and the severe pain won't return. We are prepared with meds if it does, but we are praying the worst is over.

I headed back over to the Hope House around 6am to curl up on an air mattress with Trish and help her out with the morning rush of getting the girls up and out by 10am. I am now home, exhausted to say the least! My crazy husband hasn't missed a beat and took both boys down to the OPENING OF THE MIRACLE HOUSE this morning!!!!! Yes, it is finally OPEN!!!! They are having the 1st NA meeting in it as I type!!! We will get photos up soon. There is also a block party here today, led by a visiting team. Frank has to go set up the sound at 11:30, which he is planning to do also. In between, I am praying he will rest. The baby is napping, I am going to lay down for a few minutes myself...
