Why We Went

This is the real reason we were down south last week…

We {Frank} spoke at MUMC on Sunday Sept 12, and spoke at Light of Christ UMC the following Sun.  We are honored to be invited to do this and love this time to connect with our supporters and friends.

At MUMC we were introduced in front of the congregation at the 8:30 and the 9:40 services and Frank spoke for a few minutes…mainly inviting people to our presentation.

We were served by MANY wonderful people from MUMC who put together an incredible lunch for the people who came to see us.  We set up the 3 display boards {that’s what we worked so hard on at the beach}, and Frank also spoke for about 45 minutes {two different times}.  We had an incredible turn-out…God is GOOD!

At LOCUMC, we were basically strangers to all except a few.  LOCUMC is the church that was “birthed” about 10 years ago out of MUMC.  A team from their church had come up this summer to Kensington, including their pastor-Kyle.  We were welcomed warmly by those that knew us {and by those that didn’t}.  Pastor Kyle spoke about being a missional church-it was amazing.  He brought Frank up to speak before his sermon began, it all fit in perfectly.  We are honored to be partnered with such an amazing, growing church.  If you live in Matthews/Ballantyne and are looking for a smaller church that is growing, LOCUM might be it-their church is amazing!  Their main goal as a church is to be MISSIONAL!!!

I must say-my husband is amazing.  To see him speak like this brings tears to my eyes often.  Here is a man who was so uncomfortable up in front of crowds like that just years ago.  To see him speak and share the way he does now-only God!  He did an incredible job sharing our heart and our ministry-mainly the recovery ministry our family is so passionate about. God really speaks through him, I love to be even a small part of the amazing things God is accomplishing through my husband and this ministry.

It is such a humbling honor to do this {speak and share}.  Even after over 6 years as missionaries, we are still overwhelmed with the kind words of support we hear from many.  The actions of many truly bring us to our knees.  The way people help, support, pray, speak, share and love us is truly amazing.  There aren’t words to properly thank the people who do so much for us and our mission.

PS-if you missed the presentation and would like to see a PowerPoint slideshow of the boards {each printed page on the board is actually a slide}, I will be creating that soon to share!
