We were blessed with a group from Matthews, NC made up of college students and Laurie Little and John Helms! They were here for almost a week in mid May.
They worked on several projects, although I {Carisa} only witnessed one myself, the community garden behind our house! I got to spend some time with 2 different small groups as they helped us clean it up, build a fence, and plant! Here’s a small glimpse into their work in the garden {which is located diagonally behind our house, on Ann St.}
We now have flowers and a wide variety of vegetables! As I write this, it is a couple of weeks later and all vegetables are growing rapidly!
They also painted a new mural in the House of Adonai {the recovery house}

It was a blessing to have them all here! Not only for the amount of work that got done, but also for the fellowship and joy they brought with them! Many of them had been here before on MUMC Youth trips and it was neat to see them here once again!
