We had another wonderful summer with Reading Rocks! Here is a video of the kids throughout the summer {most photos taken and video edited and put together by our friend Bill}.
We had the celebration on August 8, and handed out backpacks filled with school supplies, like we do each summer! The kids have to earn 75 points on our Reading Rocks point system to attend the party and we had about 50 this year!
After some snacks, we went in where Trish handed out awards to the kids.
Then the kids go on the playground and are called in to choose their backpacks and supplies!
Shannon is the school supply lady, and coordinates the collection of the supplies throughout the year. She is amazing!
The kids seemed to love their stuff!
This year we had about 14 kids who couldn’t attend the party, but we had a good group there, here they are!
Remember we still collect school supplies year round, you can visit this post for our on going needs. We give out another batch of supplies at Christmas and also at Family Night monthly. We now have excellent storage so if you want to hit the sales this year we will definitely use it whenever you get it to us!
We will be home in mid September and can bring stuff back with us, so let Frank know if you have something so we can arrange with you where to bring it!
