Current Needs ~ Reading Rocks 2011

We get asked often what ministry needs we have and I am hoping to do better communicating those needs now that we have this blog!  We are so humbled by the many donations that come in for our church family, thank you to the MANY of you who give to us {them}!

In preparation for the Reading Rocks Celebration in August 2011,

these are donations that would be GREATLY appreciated…

• NEW underwear girls and boys sizes XS-XL {for ages 5-12}
• NEW white socks, girls and boys same as above
• NEW backpacks-NO characters, but fun designs and colors are great!

• School Supplies
  • Crayola 8 pack markers {fat and skinny}
  • Crayola Colored Pencils 12 count
  • Glue Sticks
  • Composition Notebooks {not the spiral kind}
  • Children’s scissors {younger and older children’s in single packs}
  • Pencil Sharpeners
  • Pencil Bags/Cases
  • Plastic Rulers
  • Pocket Folders {the thin colored kind-not with prongs}
  • Wide Ruled Loose Leaf Paper
  • 24 Pack Crayola Crayons
  • White Glue
  • Spiral Notebooks {solid colored}
  • Pencil Top Erasers
  • Chunky Erasers

• Fun Prizes {given out as prizes for reading achievement along the way and at the celebration]
  • Dollar Store Items
  • Fun Pens
  • Coloring Books
  • Anything smaller and fun for a child ages 5-12!

All of the above items can catch a ride with someone from the Charlotte area who is coming up on a mission trip before the party.  If you purchase anything, email Carisa to see where to take it for delivery.  OR-you can mail items yourself straight to our home, UPS is best and most reliable to us although the PO is fine too.  Please email me before sending so I can be on the lookout for it and know who it was from!

A note on amounts-we collect as much as we can and use the excess to giveaway at the Kids’ Club Christmas parties mid-year when the supplies are running low for the kids again!  The excess is also given away to children throughout the year at Kids’ Club!  Nothing is wasted!
