Reading Rocks ~ how it works Part 5

We have another new addition this year to our Reading Rocks program, and that is younger helpers. We've found that many of our 10-12 year old kids have the ability and desire to help the younger kids but we didn't fully want to usher them in as voluneers only. This summer we have created the happy medium! The kids who are able, read chapter books and they ALSO help. They can take their chapter books home with them and then be helpers at RR if they desire. We have many kids who are choosing to do this and I just think it is beautiful to see their servant's hearts.

They could be earning points for themselves, but instead choose to spend their time reading at home and helping at RR. here's a few examples...

12 year old J reading to 6 year old N. 11 year old E, working on reloading the book bags from our files...
12 year old M, reading to 6 year old E.
12 year old J, helping 5 year old Anthony (since you can see his name!), learn to write his letters after they finished their books one day...
It is a really neat thing to be a part of and I love it so very much! I am getting to see some amazing things in some young kids and it is just cool!
